Local Fly Fishing Trips

Local wade fishing trips give anglers the chance to experience the beautiful streams surrounding Boone, Banner Elk, and Blowing Rock. Depending on the season, these creeks offer a wide range of fishing opportunities—from pursuing stocked trout to targeting wild trout in some of North Carolina’s most pristine mountain streams.

Half Day Trip

Four hours gives you plenty of time on the water while leaving the rest of your day open to explore the High Country. Includes 1–2 anglers.
Half Day — $250

Full Day Trip

Spend up to eight hours on the water with time to explore multiple local fishing locations. Includes 1–2 anglers.
Full Day — $450

On a wade trip, your guide will lead you through one of our local creeks and tailor the day to current conditions, the season, your experience level, and what you want to get out of the trip.

FAQs

Do I need a fishing license?

Yes. Our wade trips require a valid North Carolina fishing license. A short-term inland fishing license is a common option for visiting anglers. License options and fees can change, so please confirm the current requirements when purchasing.

What do I need to bring?

A valid fishing license is required.

We also recommend sunglasses, a hat, comfortable clothing that can get wet, a water bottle, and a rain jacket. Gratuity for your guide is optional and appreciated for a great day on the water.

For a full-day trip, we recommend bringing lunch or a snack.
Where will we fish?

The exact fishing locations are determined by seasonal conditions, water levels, and current trout activity to help provide the best possible experience. Whether you’re a first-time angler or a seasoned fly fisher, our guides will tailor the trip to your skill level and interests.
What if there is inclement weather?

Trips generally run rain or shine. We cancel or reschedule when conditions are unsafe, such as lightning, severe storms, or other hazardous weather.
Will there be food provided?

Food is not provided on half-day (4-hour) or full-day (up to 8-hour) trips unless your guide tells you otherwise.

For a full-day trip, we recommend bringing lunch or a snack.
What will be provided?

We provide the fishing equipment and supplies needed for your trip, including:

  • Fishing rod
  • Waders
  • Boots
  • Flies

Transportation is not provided. Your guide will meet you at the arranged location.

Payment is required to book your trip and secure your date.

Cancellations made 10 days or more prior to the scheduled trip date will receive a full refund. Cancellations made within 9 days to the day of the trip will forfeit 50% of the deposit.
